Wolverine Weekend Hits Las Vegas. Johnny Brenden and Brenden Theatres at the Palms invited the press to a special media reception on Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the Brenden Celebrity Suite. Hors’ oeuvres and beverages were served in the newly re-decorated Brenden Celebrity Suite.

I’ve been to the “old” Celebrity Suite and Johnny has out-done himself! An entire wall holds an exotic fish tank!

A special preview presentation of the new “Wolverine” film starring Hugh Jackman followed. I liked it!

The Wolverine Weekend began on Wednesday with a private unveiling of Madame Tussauds “Wolverine” Wax Figure, followed by a public display and Wolverine’s actual motorcycle.

After our special presentation of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” courtesy of Johnny Brenden, the movie had its first public showing at 11:59 p.m. at the Brenden Theatres. You should have seen the line that was formed in the afternoon for the 11:59 p.m. showing!

On Friday, May 1st, Marvel Comics’ Wolverine creators John Romita, Sr. & Herb Trimpe and Wolverine artists John Romita, Jr. & Josef Rubinstein made appearances at Brenden Theatres. There was a private Meet & Greet with the creators and artists. Comic Oasis presented Free Comic Book Day featuring the Wolverine artists. There were complimentary artist autographs and lots of other free events all weekend. Johnny Brenden, a well-liked Las Vegas philanthropist, sponsored the artists visit to the Lied Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas. Las Vegas Entertainer Danny Gans Sudden, Unexplained Death. The cause of death was unknown as of Friday. "The guy was healthy as an ox, "Danny Gan’s manager Chip Lightman said."I spoke to Steve Wynn several times this morning and both of us were shocked. I was with Danny the day before yesterday. Healthy as an ox. I mean, all he ate was egg whites and spinach and worked out religiously."

The Biocentric Universe. This month’s Discover magazine carries an article on a radical new view of reality: Life creates time, space and the cosmos itself. Here are just a few explosive items from the article:

Solar Superstorm Coming in 2012. A solar superstorm could send us back into the dark ages - and one is due in just THREE years! The catastrophe, when it comes, will likely be in late September 2012.

It will take two decades or more for recovery from this first solar superstorm in modern history.

This catastrophe is a very real threat which, according to a report in the latest issue of New Scientist, remains one of the most potent, yet least recognized, threats to the future of human civilization.

Currently, the Sun is very quiet. But a solar maximum - a peak of activity - is predicted for 2012, and this is when a superstorm could strike, probably around either the spring or autumn equinox, when the orientation of the Earth's magnetic field to the Sun makes us very vulnerable.

The main point is that every solar maximum puts us more in danger as our growing population becomes ever more dependent on electricity.

Ironically, the least-affected parts of the world would probably be the poorest areas. Those Third World nations that usually suffer most from natural disasters, on account of their poor infrastructure, would adjust most quickly to life without electricity, while richer nations would be paralyzed.

So can anything be done to prevent an epic disaster? Should we consider buying land in Central Africa? If a superstorm does not happen in 2012, we can look forward to 2023, the year of the next solar maximum.

Am I the only one who is freaked out that the next solar maximum will be in late 2012? This Solar Superstorm bumps right into the Mayan’s December 21, 2012 prediction.

Shipbo Women Healers. The Temple of the Way of Light in Iquitos, Peru is presenting a small selection of Onanya anbo, Shipibo women healers who use the Divine Feminine, to work with attendees at the 5th International Ayahuasca Shamanism Conference. (http://www.soga-del-alma.org/)

The Temple will be bringing 9 highly experienced and well respected curanderas who come from isolated communities along the Rio Ucayali, near Pucallpa, Peru.
