Las Vegas: Satan Vacations Here
by Victoria Alexander
December 4, 2006
Back from Africa, Kruger National Park, Zimbabwe Spirit Medium, PK Parties, Must-See Cavalia at Rio, The Life Vessel, Simply Ballroom at Golden Nugget, Paul McCartney Buys Dead Wife’s Silence, Madonna Dearest, and more...
The Devil’s Hammer is back from our African safari in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe! We saw The Big Five! (Lion, Tiger, Rhino, Hippo, and Elephant). And I’ve got a baby doll strapped to my back in a sling honoring my African sisters! While not African, I have now linked with my homo-sapien roots by having made contact with “The Great Uncle” during a spirit-possession session in Zimbabwe. It was the grand finale of a fabulous trip!
Watch the very short digital movie I made (without sound) of Dr Hwesa (pictured above) working on John. Yes, it is not very good, but it’s my first attempt! YouTube - Zimbabwe Spirit Medium Dr Hwesa.
We spent 6 hours in Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, took two long overnight flights, lost 2 pieces of luggage (later recovered), missed a connecting flight home and had to spend a night in Los Angeles before finding a flight back to Las Vegas – the day before Thanksgiving. British Airlines has implemented a new rule that will soon be implemented on every flight – only one piece of carry-on hand luggage. Supposedly, no exceptions. We were not aware of the new rule. This will surely affect how people shop abroad. How can you buy fragile items, put them into soft luggage, and then check it?
This new ruling marks the return of hard case luggage.
Fighting jet-lag, we resumed our socializing with Thanksgiving at the Mishlove’s (Jeff and Janelle) and lunch on Friday with PK Party pioneer Jack Houck and his wife Jean (who is Dean of the College of Education at California State University, Long Beach). Saturday night was another dinner party celebrating Santa Fe artist Jacqueline Rosen, a good friend. Welcome to Jacqueline Rosen Art
PK Parties. Jack (pictured) is a researcher of paranormal phenomena and is the originator of Psychokinesis (PK) Parties, and is recognized as one of the foremost authorities in the world on the subject. He has given more than 360 of these workshops to over 17,000 people during the last 23 years, and has maintained meticulous records on them. I have attended several of Jack’s PK Parties and bent spoons and other utensils! Jack is now concentrating on technologies for alternative healing, focusing on The Life Vessel. I am not sick, but I want to experience The Life Vessel.
According to online research I did, “The Life Vessel is an apparatus that utilizes energy in the form of frequency, vibration, sound and light in order to create harmony, balance, peace and well-being within the body. The Life Vessel’s ability to balance and harmonize the body seems to be accomplished by its direct affect on three major areas: (1) Detoxification of the whole body-physically and mentally; (2) De-stressing the whole body-physically and mentally; (3) Balancing the parasympathetic and sympathetic parts of the autonomic nervous system.” Out-of-Body experiences are commonplace. Since the operators of The Life Vessel do no advertising of any kind, are not listed in the phone book, have no website or business cards, and the name appears no where on the building, Jack said I can use his “juice” to get an appointment. The Life Vessel is headquartered somewhere in Arizona. Jack Houck Main
Cavalia. On Friday, November 24th, we saw the magnificent, breathtaking “Cavalia.” This show should be here permanently. It is brilliant. I was in Africa for the opening and party, so my thanks to Cavalia’s Genevieve Pesant for the great seats. I would have loved to meet the fantastic trainers. There is a real bond between the performers and the horses. And the horses have strong personalities!
I want to see this show again before it leaves Las Vegas on December 9th! Do not miss it! “Cavalia” is a must-see and a terrific companion to Las Vegas’ five Cirque du Soliel shows. “Cavalia” is a critically-acclaimed show that captures the majestic connection between man and horse, tracing that bond through music, acrobatics, special effects and multimedia elements.
There are 50 horses representing 10 different breeds. More than half are stallions and the rest geldings. There are 32 artists, daring riders, acrobats, aerialists, and dancers, as well as musicians, a vocalist, and the famous European ‘horse-whisperer’ Frederic Pignon (pictured be kissed by a horse) and his wife, world-class rider Magali Delgado. Both are Equestrian Co-Directors of the production.
Different disciplines of equestrian are spotlighted as horses and FANTASTIC riders share the stage with aerialists and acrobats. I do not know anything about training horses, but do know that horses cannot do what these horses do! The visionary behind “Cavalia,” Normand Latourelle, was deeply involved in Cirque du Soleil during its earliest days, and has evolved to produce adventurous shows of mammoth proportions. “Cavalia” is simply divine.
Far from a rigidly scripted show, “Cavalia” encourages its horses to express themselves as they perform under the 160-foot, 10-story Big White Top during this evocative, dream-like spectacular.
I want to start a write-in campaign to keep “Cavalia” here at the Rio. We will make a good home for them! No more traveling around!
“Cavalia’s” exclusive Las Vegas engagement at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino opened on November 16 and, due to a great demand for tickets, “Cavalia” has been extended to December 22nd. Tickets are priced from $50 to $95 for adults, $35 to $75 for children 12 and under. “Cavalia” Rendezvous packages including hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, a souvenir and behind-the-scenes tour from $195 per adult, $115 per child. Time: 8:00 PM. Price: $35-$195 plus tax and fees. Call for reservations at (702) 777-7776 or online. Cavalia
Kruger National Park, South Africa. We started our African safari adventure with a stay at Kruger National Park. We took a one hour and forty minute Sefofane flight from Johannesburg to Pafuri Camp in the world-renowned Kruger. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, Kruger is a park of nearly 2 million hectares. Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals.
We stayed at Pafuri Camp, a private safari lodge situated between the Limpopo and the Luvuvhu Rivers in the northern sector of the Kruger National Park, in a 24,000 hectare area called the Pafuri or the Makuleke. (Our raised tent is pictured below.)
To the north and east of The Makuleke 'Concession' lies Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
We were able to observe a cheetah feasting on its fresh impala kill (pictured above). We were so close I could hear the cheetah tearing into the animal and chewing. The smell was overwhelming.

We were a small group of just six at Kruger. Phyllis Hassberger spotted a leopard lounging around (pictured left).
Simply Ballroom. On Sunday we saw “Simply Ballroom” at the Golden Nugget. The “Dancing With The Stars” craze has brought a new audience to ballroom dancing. I watched the first few shows but never got obsessed with it. “Simply Ballroom,” a new show featuring some of the world’s foremost ballroom champions, is hosted by Will Young and Zoë Birkett, from the first season of “Pop Idol” - the UK’s runaway television series and the precursor to the smash-hit “American Idol.”
Fresh from their world tour, which included engagements in South Africa, Dubai and Europe, this collection of top-ten ranked competitive ballroom dancers, inaugurate their first time in the U.S. with an unlimited engagement at The Showroom at the Golden Nugget. And, just like “Dancing With The Stars,” the audience gets to vote for their favorite performers.
If you are a fan of the TV show, it is worthwhile to see top-ranked professionals perform live. “Simply Ballroom” should enjoy a long engagement in Las Vegas.
“Simply Ballroom” performs nightly, at 7 p.m. (dark Fridays). Tickets start at $29, plus tax and fees, and are available at the Golden Nugget Ticket Office, online at www.goldennugget.com, or by calling (702) 386-8100.
Paul McCartney’s Ugly Divorce. "[Heather Mills] What a fucking liar! I wouldn't be surprised if we found out she's actually got two legs." - Brit TV presenter Jonathan Ross, on Paul McCartney's reviled, gold-digging ex, while hosting the Q Awards in London last month.
How did Sir Paul, one of the wealthiest men in the world, get duped? Will he really have to pay Mills $197 million to keep her mouth shut? And what about those 15 (!) confessional audio tapes Linda McCarthy made about her unhappy marriage? Paul has an estimated billion dollar fortune but Linda, his wife of 29 years, had to borrow money for groceries!
Sir Paul has secretly paid nearly $500 million to secure the 20 hours of tapes, in Linda’s voice, which reportedly contain explosive allegations about their marriage! Their existence raises the very real possibility of Linda giving evidence from beyond the grave in Sir Paul's messy divorce from second wife Heather Mills.
Linda poured out her heart to confidante Peter Cox, with whom she wrote a vegetarian cook book before her death. Linda needed walking around money! As an incentive to being paid off, Cox made a few details public.
In an interview with London's Mail on Sunday newspaper, Cox revealed: "At the low points [in their marriage], Linda did feel trapped." Cox claimed that Paul had "a darker side and could be very controlling. ... He bossed her around.
"Occasionally I'd find Linda in tears, obviously distressed. And there were.. occasions when I would get the train down to work with her only to be met by a driver who'd been sent to say that she couldn't see me. That was when I got really worried.
"Every marriage has its ups and downs, of course. In her low moments, the idea of leaving him did cross her mind, but she immediately rejected it. Her family was the most important thing in her life and there was no way she'd give them up."
Amazingly, Cox claims that Paul — whose fortune is estimated at $1.5 billion — could be tight with cash when it came to Linda. "It struck me that she didn't have ready access to money," said Cox. "For instance, I would often lend her a fiver or a tenner for groceries."
TDH MySpace friends. His name is John Johnson and he is looking for DMT. Me too! John is the guy in orange.
Madonna Dearest. This photo-shopped montage is just too clever to ignore.
From digitalspy.co.uk comes this creepy blind item: “A celebrity adopted a child from the same African orphanage as Madonna - but gave the youngster back two months later. Home of Hope director Rev Thomson Chipeta, who refused to name the star, said: “Another very famous person took a child from us for adoption and brought it back a few months later.” Diary of a Rat » Blog Archive » Madonna Dearest
